Library Director Debra Rhodes Gibson reported to Historic City News that the St. Johns County Public Library System is bringing back a program this holiday season to help stock the shelves of a local food pantry.

Historic City News has learned that Bonnie Rowe, Family Nutrition Program Assistant for St. Johns County Cooperative Extension Service, attended the National Conference of American Medical Colleges of Nutrition in Orlando last month.

County Administrator Michael D. Wanchick reported to Historic City News that last month was very busy for the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division hosting five great events including Stone Temple Pilots, Alan Jackson, Third Day, Lynyrd Skynrd, and Bonnie Raitt.

Library Statistics Remain High –
In years past, the return of the school year signals a slowing of library activity. Not so for 2009. Library statistics show that business is booming.

The City of St. Augustine reported to Historic City News that three new 1500 gallon per minute Upper Floridian aquifer wells, drilled to approximately 450’ deep, are under construction.
