Most of the conservative right wing agenda is going to pass before there is any chance to organize an effective opposition.
It’s a new year for Historic City News and 2016 provided ample opportunity to learn from our critics — both those who were constructive and those who were abusive. Looking ahead to 2017 — some things will be improved, some will be discontinued, and some things will remain the old way. In discussing the next year with our advisors, we were reminded of the parable of the old man and young boy.

I find it odd that we use a system of discipline that allows the victims of bullying in our public schools to be punished if they stand up to their aggressors. After all, isn’t that the best way to prevent further bullying?
Wasn’t it just Christmas? The older I get, the faster the weeks come and go. What used to seem an eternity from one summer to the next now passes in the blink of an eye.

Overlook all the Christmas advertising that started showing up on Halloween morning, but there is another holiday enjoyed by nearly everyone in the country and perhaps my favorite — Thanksgiving.
