The St Augustine Amphitheatre is holding its first Night Market tonight and going forward on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Public Broadcasting System documentary, Secrets of Spanish Florida, tells the story of St. Augustine’s colonial years. It was delivered to a national audience in a two-hour documentary that premiered last December.

Finalists in the 2017 St Johns County hospitality and tourism industry “Employee of the Year” awards were reported to Historic City News this afternoon. Each winner was recognized at their place of business in a celebration with their co-workers.

Depending on how long you have lived in St Augustine, Historic City News readers will refer to St Augustine’s only “skyscraper”, a six-story bank building located at 24 Cathedral Place, by a different name.  But, as of Tuesday, January 30, 2018, the current event venue with individual office spaces above, has been sold.

Historic City News has learned that the business assets of local concrete manufacturer, Griswold Concrete, located at 201 Concourse Drive in Elkton, and 11660 Camden Road in Jacksonville, have been purchased by Tennessee based concrete manufacturer, SRM Concrete.

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan confirmed to local Historic City News reporters that St Johns County will be the beneficiary of construction of a new 187,000 square-foot global headquarters, consolidating area staff under one roof in Ponte Vedra Beach.
