Since I’m downtown eating all the time and get to see the restaurants that succeed, as well as those that fail, it seems appropriate that I pick up the “Culinary Favorites” column for Historic City News readers in search of the best hamburger or the best Cuban Sandwich in St Augustine.
7-Eleven targets Florida including St Augustine
7-Eleven was shown the un-welcome mat last year when an uproar caused by Nelmar Terrace neighbors and others in North City was sufficient to move City Manager John Regan to use money in the city’s general fund to purchase land (above its appraised value) to prevent construction of an already permitted convenience store on San Marco Avenue.
Local businesses participate in The Art of Taking Tea
The Lightner Museum will be hosting an evening of education and entertainment on Wednesday May 10, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Lightner Museum’s Historic Pool Area, where participants will learn about the development and social customs of “taking tea” while enjoying period-correct food and service.
