Historic City News received a last-minute call that St Johns County Marine Rescue is still looking for a few more lifeguards to help protect local beaches this summer.

There has been no progress in the local investigation of the murder of two men found inside a burning vehicle near the intersection of Fred Waters Way and Spring Street on November 16, 2016.

St Johns County Fire Rescue reported to Historic City News this afternoon that they have contained a residential structure fire in the 3500 block of Lone Wolf Trail.

The two-semi tractor-trailer crash on I-95 is largely cleaned up; however, the Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Investigators are still on the scene and expect to be until about 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Historic City News was informed that all southbound lanes of I-95 south of SR-207 are closed due to a major collision involving two semi-trailers and hazardous materials cleanup.

Four inmates from the Hastings Youth Academy overpowered an elderly guard, took his keys and radio, then made their escape by jumping over the rear perimeter fence of the detention facility early this morning, according to a media release obtained by Historic City News.

St Johns County Deputy Justin Cash is investigating a complaint by a customer of a local Beall’s department store alleging that a man in the dressing room area was using his cell phone to take pictures of female customers as they changed clothes.
