Native Plant Society October meeting
Renee Stambaugh, President of the Sea Oats Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society informed Historic City News local reporters that “Wildflowers of Florida” will be the program for the October 12th meeting of the Florida Native Plant Society.

68 year-old Dr. Richard Shortlidge, a director of Florida Living History, Inc., recently sang the praises of St. Augustine to U.S. News & World Report magazine.
Florida’s Governor Charlie Crist told Historic City News in an announcement this week, “Hispanic Heritage Month is a special time to recognize the contributions of Hispanic-Americans and their impact on our state’s past, present and future.”
St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Interim President Isabelle Rodriguez, told local Historic City News business reporters that City Manager John Regan recently met with and addressed the Historic St. Augustine Area Council.
St. Johns River Community College told local Historic City News reporters that they have welcomed six new faculty members to the St. Augustine campus this fall.
Public Affairs Specialist Karen Pan in the Office of the St. Johns County Administrator, invited local Historic City News readers to the Grand Opening of the new St. Johns County Transit Center to be used by the Council on Aging and Sunshine Bus Company.
Sallie O’Hara, Byway Program Administrator, reported to Historic City News that the first “A1A Golf Cup Classic” will be held on September 19, 2010 at Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club.
