In a Folio Weekly article published Tuesday, columnist Susan Cooper Eastman gave her account of a day spent in St. Augustine recently in the company of local personality Merrill Paul Roland — an advocate for the rights of the disabled.
Sheriff’s representative Kevin Kelshaw told Historic City News that a 43 year-old St. Johns County man who was wanted in connection with the death of another driver in January, was placed under arrest in Jacksonville today.
“This residence was used as a drug house where people came to do their drugs,” said Flagler County Sheriff Donald W. Fleming in Palm Coast today. “It is a community menace and we will return until we close it down permanently.”
Lindsey Phillips announced to Historic City News that the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument in St. Augustine is expanded their resources to serve the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.
Laurie Sanderson reported the following St. Augustine and St. Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
Chief Loran Lueders announced to Historic City News local reporters that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has opined that in the recent arrest of St. Augustine City Commissioner Errol D. Jones, “everything was handled properly”.
A veteran of 15 years of service with the city, David Snowman was recognized recently for his commitment and hard work when he was named the City of St. Augustine’s 2011 Employee of the Year.
