Slough joins District 6 Congressional race
Historic City News was notified earlier today that St Johns County School Board Chairman Beverly F Slough intends to file paperwork today with the Federal Elections Commission to run for Florida’s 6th Congressional District.

The city staffers who manage the St Augustine 450th Commemoration have come up with a program suitable for smaller organizations who want to affiliate themselves with the city’s upcoming anniversary — short of sponsorship of a major signature event, according to Communications and Resources Manager Jennifer Zuberer.
Historic City News learned that, according to a report of 2012 County Health Rankings released yesterday, in overall rankings of health factors, St Johns County ranks first among Florida’s 67 counties; and has for the last three years; and, for 2012, replaces Collier County to rank first in health outcomes, as well.

A residential structure fire, believed to have started in a void between the second and third floors of a 3 1/2 story home in Sea Colony, had St Augustine and St Johns County firefighters tied up for almost an hour as they worked to contain the fire this afternoon.
