Shots fired at Ponte Vedra Beach condo

Sheriff’s representatives, Public Information Officer Sergeant Chuck Mulligan and Community Affairs Corporal Catherine Payne, are on the scene of a despondent individual who they report fired on deputies when they attempted to contact him.

While the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind is in mediation with the City of St Augustine, neither the school’s public spokesperson nor its President, Danny Hutto, will be commenting to the media on a proposed bill introduced by retiring Representative Bill Proctor that may give the school the power of “eminent domain”.

St Augustine City Attorney Ronald W Brown informed Historic City News this afternoon that, at their regular meeting held last night, the City Commission responded to public inquiries and those from commissioners by scheduling two workshops to discuss the general uses of public areas in the City.

National Parks admission waived for King holiday

Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and Fort Matanzas National Monument in St Augustine, along with the 395 other national parks across the country, will offer “free admission” from January 14 through 16 to commemorate Dr Martin Luther King, Jr Day.
