Regan wants public consensus on building heights
City Manager John Regan has previously recommended to Historic City News reporters that “until we can do some consensus-building in the community” any decision to further restrict the building heights in Historic Preservation District Three should be delayed.



In a follow-up to several prior articles that appeared in Historic City News concerning the original coquina seawall along Avenida Menendez, commissioners voted to join in a memorandum of understanding last night to proceed with a new seawall — 12 feet further into the Matanzas River.
As Historic City News reporters covered last night’s St. Augustine City Commission meeting, we heard Vice-Mayor Leanna Freeman made an appeal to take another look at limits on visual artists in public places.

St. Johns County Sheriff’s media relations officer Kevin Kelshaw informed Historic City News that a couple living in Hastings have been arrested and charged with producing methamphetamine and child abuse.
Dean of Florida School of the Arts, Alain Hentschel, announced to local Historic City News reporters that there will be a variety of performing and visual arts events to enlighten and entertain with the Florida School of the Arts 2011-12 seasons.
