Riberia Point – Aquarium not likely to proceed
Somebody can call the time-of-death on the latest Riberia Point project that has failed in the court of public opinion. And, after last week’s town hall style public workshop held at the Willie Galimore Community Center, it seems clear that if the City proposes any plan that introduces, or increases, commercial traffic at the south end of the Lincolnville residential community, it is going to bring with it heated, vocal opposition.
Thursday night, April 10th, during a somewhat contentious meeting of the Republican Party in St Johns County, Chairman Sean Mulhall held a discussion on a motion to adopt a resolution of the Executive Committee supporting lower taxation and economic freedom.
Laurie Sanderson reported the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
Students from many area schools – Florida’s First Coast Delegation- participate in the YMCA Youth in Government (YIG) and Junior Youth in Government (JYIG) programs. This year, twenty-seven students practiced techniques to learn to “debate ideas not people” where “the partisan divide exists only between the engaged and the apathetic”.
