Nights of Lights comes to a close
The City of St. Augustine got a little darker for Historic City News readers last Monday night as the 20th season of Nights of Lights drew to a close. The annual winter celebration of light started its 10-week long run on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and ended on Sunday, February 2.


County Commission action items: February 4
When the evaluations were released to Historic City News, scoring how well the St Johns County Visitors and Convention Bureau and St Johns Cultural Council performed against the mission of their individual contracts with St Johns County, a very disturbing outcome in the manner in which the current chairman of the St Johns County Board of County Commissioners scored the Cultural Council.
During the regular meeting of the Tourist Development Council, held Monday, January 27th, it was “report card” day for the Visitor and Convention Bureau and the St Johns Cultural Council as performance evaluations for the fall season, Fiscal Year 2013, were revealed. During Tuesday’s meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, each agency was allowed 10 minutes to address performance issues and present future plans.
