Holiday closings

In a press release from Karen Pan, Office of Public Affairs, Historic City News was advised that all offices of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners will be closed Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.

Pet adoption event on Saturday

Come join the St. Johns County Pet Center for a special adoption day on Saturday, May 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In addition to cats and dogs being available for adoption, bracelets will be given out to children and individuals may sign-up to volunteer at the Pet Center.

Accused child molester arrested

A 33-year old St. Johns County man was arrested Monday afternoon on a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation upon a victim under the age of 12 according to a press release received by Historic City News and Media this morning from SJSO Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw.

Identity phishing leads to reported credit fraud

In a classic case of Internet fraud, a St. Augustine man reported to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office yesterday that he had responded to an e-mail requesting updated credit information – and e-mail that he believed came from America Online; his Internet Service Provider.

Airport approves two new air charters

Monday evening, The St. Augustine and St. Johns County Airport Authority voted unanimously to approve operating agreements with two scheduled air charter operators, Casino Direct Air (a division of Myrtle Beach Direct Air) and Craig Air Center Charter.

Through the Eyes of a Child opens May 31

An opening for “Through the Eyes of a Child”, an eclectic and vibrant exhibit featuring the artwork of children from St. Johns County, will be held at the St. Johns Cultural Council’s Art Advocate Gallery on Saturday, May 31 from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. according to a media release received by Historic City News this afternoon.
