Historic City News editor Michael Gold was in attendance last night as St. Johns County Sheriff David B. Shoar addressed a full house of members and guests of the St. Augustine Tea Party during their regular meeting held at the Village Inn.

Historic City News reporters note the April 27th commemoration of “Morse code Day” with a caveat — being that although Samuel Finley Breese Morse was born in 1791 on April 27th, he is actually the co-inventor of “Morse code”.

Off-duty deputy hits-kills pedestrian

For the second time in the past thirty-days, the Florida Highway Patrol has reported a deputy sheriff involved in a serious collision in his patrol car — while driving off duty — this time, involving the death of a pedestrian.
