Jaguars Jones-Drew off hook on battery charge
This morning Historic City News was informed that Assistant State Attorney Chris France has filed an announcement with the court of “no information” to allegations that Jacksonville Jaguars football player Maurice C Jones Drew committed simple battery during a Reggae Sunday incident at the Conch House Marina bar and restaurant.



Over the past two months, Historic City News has reported on several local debates and public decisions that, frankly, are part of a disturbing trend that I believe are contributing factors in many of the inescapably “bad news” articles we are compelled to report.
Five months ago, Historic City News was informed by Public Information Officer Robert Weber that the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services Division had responded to the gruesome discovery of a decaying body behind a Palm Coast home, but little else was known. Today we can report more details as the investigation continues.
A 43-year-old St Johns County man was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography this afternoon after detectives served a search warrant at his home and discovered illegal images on his computer’s hard disk, according to a report received by Historic City News today.
As residents entered the Alcazar Room this afternoon, in preparation for the 5:00 p.m. regular meeting of the St Augustine City Commission, they were required to pass through a manned security checkpoint; emptying their pockets of metal objects and surrendering their bags for inspection before being frisked with an electronic wand.

Historic City News has been informed that Flagler College and the City of St Augustine have rescheduled the screening of an episode of the classic 1960’s television series, Route 66. Originally scheduled for June 6, the event was rained out by Tropical Storm Andrea, but will be shown July 16 — come rain or shine.
Civil Air Patrol Saint Augustine Composite Squadron Commander, Major Ralph Aviles, has announced that C/CMSgt Ben Henderson has been selected by the Air Force Sergeants Association as the Squadron Cadet of the Year.
