New leadership and direction for local shelter
St Francis House has been in operation since 1984; originally providing meals, then adding lodging, and more support services for those in need in St Johns County. After six-years of leadership, Renee Morris stepped down as Executive Director last month, citing health reasons for her resignation.

There is a word that defines someone who tries to get an advantage for themselves from a situation without thinking about what is right — that person is referred to as an “opportunist”. The word is often used to describe politicians, and it is not considered a desirable trait.
The second annual “Christmas in Old St Augustine” heritage event, will take place on Saturday, December 21st, at Mission Nombre de Dios, located at 27 Ocean Avenue in St Augustine. Admission is free of charge to Historic City News readers.
