Florida East Coast Railway Police spokesman Bob Ledoux reported to Historic City News this evening that they are investigating the death of a man, struck by a freight train as he laid on the railroad tracks near Perpall Street in the City of St Augustine.

Next week there will no doubt be heard a lot of squeaky wheels around City Hall; when, at the behest of freshman commissioner, Roxanne Horvath, the City of St Augustine launches a new “visioning project” to create an updated “blueprint for St Augustine’s future”.
St Augustine Fire Marshal, Bob Growick, announced to Historic City News that this year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Prevent Kitchen Fires”. The 91-year-old Fire Prevention Week tradition is a way to alert the community to dangers that may exist in homes and business, and as a way to educate the public about preventing fires before they start.
Laurie Sanderson reported the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations to Historic City News where the Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadwork that is expected to have an impact on driving, beginning this morning and continuing through the coming week.
The Sus-Tones, a four-man surf rock band, brought down the house at the second annual “Battle of the Bands” held September 7th, to benefit the Chorus Program of the St Johns County Center for the Arts.
