Park-and-ride shuttles will be ADA capable
As host city for the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover set for September 13 and 14, the City of St Augustine has informed Historic City News that they have made a commitment to ensure that all visitors have an equal opportunity to enjoy the event to its fullest by making every effort to accommodate accessibility needs.



The regular meeting of the St Johns County Board of Commissioners was held Tuesday September 3, 2013, in the County Auditorium in the St Johns County Administration Palace located at 500 San Sebastian View in St Augustine.
The City of St Augustine held an open house last night at the Casa Monica Hotel where residents and business owners were invited to ask questions face-to-face with the folks who are responsible to make the Gentlemen of the Road Stopover operate smoothly.
Historic City News was notified that there’s a brand-new nest in town for quilters: Bee’s Quilt Shop and Studio celebrated its grand opening on August 24. The shop offers a wide variety of quilting fabrics and notions as well as classes and workshops.
Historic City News is joining with the local government advocacy group, “Keep It Local Florida”, in recognizing this Friday, September 6th, as “Local Works Day”; enforcing the message that local government workers help form the fabric of our communities.

Historic City News has learned that at 12:38 p.m. today, the driver of a white pickup truck on SR-207 lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a power pole, downing power lines; but, according to Sergeant Dylan L Bryan with Florida Highway Patrol, no one was injured.
