City announces Christmas Holiday schedule

Offices for the City of St. Augustine will be closed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, December 24, 25 and 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Offices will also be closed on Wednesday, January 1 for the New Year’s Day holiday.

Autopsy complete, deputy who shot Stevens identified

Media Relations Officer, Kevin Kelshaw, informed Historic City News in St Augustine today that a nine-year veteran of the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office is the deputy who fired the shot yesterday afternoon that killed 64-year-old Rodney Wayne Stevens inside his residence at 385 Katnack Road, off White Castle Road.

Wanted man shot and killed during confrontation with deputies

St Johns County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence off White Castle Road this afternoon; where a 64-year-old local man, wanted by police for grand theft, felony battery, and tampering with a witness, threatened family members who were trying to talk him into surrendering.
