While a pair of antiquated Florida laws, sections 50.011 and 50.031, Florida Statutes, require certain notices in civil, probate, and criminal proceedings to be published in “newspapers of general circulation”, that requirement does not extend to every public notice under every situation.

Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy A. Quince will be in St Augustine Monday evening to perform the investiture of the city’s new mayor, Nancy Shaver. Freshman commissioner, Todd Neville, and returning commissioner, Nancy Sikes-Kline, will be installed by County Court Judge Charles J. Tinlin.
