Kris Phillips, president of Historic City News’ broadcast news partner, WFOY, announced this week that Kevin Fennessy has joined the station group as an Account Executive. Fennessy has previously worked in this radio market since 2011, providing sales and customer service.
Much ado is made of St Augustine’s heritage — we are truly a “melting pot” that includes Spanish, Minorcan, and a host of other European settlers, African, Cuban and islanders from other Caribbean nations; some who traveled here willingly and some who did not.
Historic City News has been informed that St Augustine resident, 31-year-old Jodi Eller, became the first woman to complete the 1,515-mile Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail that runs from Pensacola to Key West to the Georgia border.
St Augustine Streets and Grounds Manager, Charlene Putz, has alerted Historic City News that the south stretch of Avenida Menendez, from King Street south to St Francis Street, will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, January 13, and continuing through Friday, January 17.
