Free “Reach the Beach” Shuttle Service this Labor Day
With the demand for off-beach parking expected to exceed capacity during the holiday weekend, St. Johns County is offering Historic City News readers a free shuttle service to Mickler’s Beachfront Park and St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., September 5 through September 7, 2015.




Historic City News says move over Jamestown, this weekend it is St Augustine, Florida who celebrates our claim to be the oldest, continuously occupied settlement of European origin in what is now the United States.
For nearly half an hour before their luncheon at St Augustine’s Columbia Restaurant today, Florida Governor Rick Scott had some one-on-one time with Mayor Nancy Shaver after the September cabinet meeting came to a close at The Treasury.
Historic City News attended this morning’s meeting of the Florida Cabinet, but not in Tallahassee. Attorney General Pam Bondi, Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam, and Florida Governor Rick Scott, traveled to St Augustine for a special meeting today that included several stops to recognize the accomplishments of St Augustine residents and business owners.
