The St. Augustine Art Association has invited Historic City News readers to help celebrate the New Year with three new exhibitions opening Friday, January 8th, during a reception being held at the gallery located at 22 Marine Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Citizen’s voices heard – no dorms in residential zoning

Two hours is a long time, but it is not without precedent at St Augustine board and commission meetings, and it was the case again today when more than 20 citizens stood to speak to the Planning and Zoning Board to oppose an effort by Flagler College to continue to expand its development of student dormitories into residential areas.

St Johns County in top 8 school district graduation rates

St Johns County improved their graduation rate to 90.5 percent, a 2.7 percentage point increase over last year and 4.7 percentage points since 2010-11. The St Johns County School District is one of eight with a graduation rate over 90 percent; according to data released to Historic City News today by the Florida Department of Education.
