According to the latest weather update from the National Hurricane Center, Historic City News local reporters have learned that Tropical Storm Emily no longer poses a danger to Florida’s Historic Coast.

Former Putnam Sheriff Hardy arrested and charged with DUI

Historic City News has learned that on Monday 7/24/2017, former Putnam County Sheriff, 51-year-old Jeffrey Scott Hardy, was arrested and charged with driving, or being in actual physical control of, a vehicle in Ormond Beach while under the influence of alcohol.

Second deputy arrested for domestic battery in 30-days

A 17-year veteran of the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office, and member of the SJSO Dive Team, Jeremy Jennings Galentine, was arrested yesterday and charged with misdemeanor battery and domestic battery by strangulation, a third-degree felony.
