Historic City News has learned that a special ceremony is scheduled to be held Saturday, November 14th which promises to be “the first step” in an effort to create a renaissance of local interest in area history including Florida Memorial College; now known as Florida Memorial University.

Communication Department Chair Tracy Halcomb reported to Historic City News that Barton Palmer will be the keynote speaker at Flagler’s first Fall Film Seminar.

The City of St. Augustine reported to Historic City News that in just a few weeks, our community will celebrate the reopening of the historic Bridge of Lions and its return to service after over 42 months of extensive rehabilitation.

Planning and Building Director Mark Knight reported to Historic City News that a Lincolnville landmark building has been red-tagged by the city as an unsafe structure.

Now that we have the 450th Commemorative Commission free seven part series kickoff official line-up of activities and events planned for 2010, it is my hope that the world will realizes that one of the greatest attributes about living in St. Augustine is that our future must be tied to cultural, local, and multicultural American History so to attract tourist from far and wide, and to include international.

St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Communications Manager Tara Howard reported to Historic City News that the Northeast Business Council made a donation to the Ponte Vedra Library to purchase books related to International Business.
