According to reports from some local real estate management companies, Historic City News reporters have learned that demand for oceanfront vacation rentals is thriving — some up as much as twenty percent over the same period last summer.
Sue Swain, President of the Garden Club of St Augustine, told Historic City News local reporters that “Fun with Flowers…for KIDS!” workshops will be held at all St. Johns County Public Library branches this summer starting July 16th.
Historic City News has received notice that funeral services for 18 year-old Shae Lynn Burchfield will be held on Wednesday, July 14th.
At the regular St. Augustine City Commission meeting scheduled for Monday night, Historic City News has learned that Regional Transportation Planner James Boyle will present information taken from the 2009 Final First Coast Commuter Rail Feasibility Study prepared by Gannett Fleming for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority.
Historic City News has been informed that a small number of tar balls were found today on a beach in southern St. Johns County; according to County Spokesperson Karen Pan.
Historic City News has learned that out of 257 applications processed by the Division of Cultural Affairs within the Florida Department of State, asking for a total of $20,424,368 in combined General Program Support Awards statewide, 245 grantees will receive awards from the 2010 Legislature’s $950,000 appropriation.
