In an announcement received by Historic City News from Linda B. Dixon, AICP, Assistant Director of Facilities Planning and Construction Division of the University of Florida, we were updated about meetings going on today regarding the State-owned historic properties in downtown St. Augustine.

The Water Street Collection will be presented at the Art Advocate Gallery at 76B San Marco Avenue in St. Augustine, according to an announcement received by Historic City News this morning from the St. Johns Cultural Council.

Last week, Carl Blow, Commissioner with the St. Augustine Port, Waterway & Beach District, reported to Historic City News on the recent deployment of additional concrete pipe and boxes at the High School Reef.

Gypsy Cab Company continues to offer their popular “Dinner and a Movie” monthly event to benefit the St. Johns Cultural Council; the next performance is Monday June 23, 2008 with dinner starting at 6:00 p.m and the movie at 7:00 p.m.
After the buffet meal, guests will enjoy this months feature presentation, the 1998 movie “The Alarmist” according to an announcement provided to Historic City News from the Cultural Council.

Planning for the commemoration of the city’s 450th anniversary will start with a community kickoff event set for 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Flagler College Auditorium, according to an announcement received by Historic City News this morning from Cathy Dupont in the city’s Office of Public Affairs.
