Scheduled Burn at the GTM Research Reserve
Historic City News was informed that an ecological prescribed burn in the coastal strand between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, directly south of Six Mile boat ramp, is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, 2013.



The Sheriff’s Office Clandestine Lab Enforcement Team was called to a residence on Fullerwood Drive in North City this afternoon, after police, who entered the residence to serve an outstanding warrant, discovered an active methamphetamine lab inside one of the bedrooms.
Over the past six-hour period, Historic City News has received reports of a fallen tree in the Rivertown Subdivision of northwest St Johns County; that, at one point, had SR-13 completely impassable and has left many residents without electric power.
The St Augustine Police Department asked Historic City News readers to keep in mind this evening that, if you plan to park downtown for the fireworks display, parking is limited.


Yesterday at 1:34 p.m., St Augustine Police Officer Samuel Panilag and Corporal James Giammarinaro responded to a disturbance involving four people at the Subway on San Marco Avenue, according to a report obtained by Historic City News.
With students attending Ketterlinus Elementary School on summer vacation, Historic City News learned that, last week, members of the St Augustine Police Department were given permission to use the campus to create realistic, hands-on, “active shooter” scenarios as part of on-going yearly training for their officers.
