Executive Director of the Northeast Florida Regional Airport, Edward R. Wuellner, announced to Historic City News today that a final budget of $9,528,133 was adopted by the St. Augustine – St. Johns County Airport Authority; but, the good news is that the Airport operations remain self-sustaining.

News reporters will no longer be able to criticize the actions of elected public officials in St Augustine if those politicians believe the characterization of their actions reflects poorly on their reputation.

Representative Cyndi Stevenson announced to Historic City News that she and her staff will begin holding office hours for the months of September and October at public libraries across District 17.

While 35 of 50 states already issue drivers licenses and state identification cards through the mail, Florida does not. More than 5-years-ago, struggling with budget cuts and growing costs associated with maintaining local DMV offices, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles decided to close all or most of its existing locations.

City offices closed at 1:00 p.m. today “to facilitate the influx of those attending Celebrate 450! Events”, according to an announcement received by Historic City News this morning.  St Augustine City Hall will also be closed Monday, September 7th, in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.
