Historic City News was updated by PACER last week that the four local artists who are suing the City of St Augustine in Federal District Court for violation of their constitutionally protected rights, have filed proof of service with the court announcing their motion for a preliminary injunction against the City.

Historic City News has been following the activities of the St Augustine City Commission since the investiture of Mayor Nancy Shaver on December 1, 2014. We are compiling data about each elected official on the commission; how they are voting, identifying patterns in their behavior, interactions with other members of the commission and staff.

Historic City News has learned that, in anticipation of a longer than usual meeting, the Historic Architectural Review Board in St Augustine is adopting an earlier start time for tomorrow’s meeting and public hearings on a number of controversial issues published on the agenda.

Historic City News readers are cordially invited to attend and participate in an informal question-and-answer session with St. Johns County District 1 Commissioner, James K. Johns, during a public town hall meeting on July 16th.

On June 23rd, Historic City News obtained a copy of Senate Bill 2500A as approved by Governor Rick Scott.  The governor’s veto was applied to certain funding requests, the remainder move forward.
