Friday 13th court orders do not help Deputy Banks

Last week, Historic City News learned that, in the matter of Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Banks, and his lawsuit against the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and its agent Rusty Ray Rodgers, United States District Judge Brian J Davis has ruled that Banks, through his attorney, Robert (Mac) L. McLeod, has failed to file the requisite factual allegations against the Defendant in a “short and plain statement of claims”.

Demolition permit for historic Dow Museum home delayed

St Augustine’s Historic Architectural Review Board, hamstrung by the resignation-under-fire of its chairman, and declared conflicts of interest by two other appointed members, this week made the decision to deny an application for a permit to demolish the 1905 Carpenter’s House; one of the Dow Museum of Historic Homes sold to Old Island Hotels, Inc., and its developer-owner.
