$250,000 grant for garage light conversion
Historic City News has learned that City Manager John Regan is expecting to save an estimated $103,102 on the Visitor Center parking facility’s annual light bill — thanks to a planned conversion of lighting fixtures largely paid for by a federal stimulus grant.

State Senator Tony Hill reported to Historic City News that he recently hosted an economic development delegation of 40 dignitaries from the Ministry of Tourism of the Bahamas on a vision tour in various Florida counties; including St. Johns County.
Vicky Oakes, Assistant Supervisor of Elections for St. Johns County, told Historic City News local St. Johns County reporters, “We’ve put together a quick info sheet as a reference to the upcoming August 24th Primary Election; listing some upcoming dates, deadlines, and election activities for St. Johns County voters.”
Areas like the south end of San Marco Avenue and Anastasia Boulevard require a “use by exception” permit to operate a new or used car lot or to “curb” cars for sale in business parking lots or service stations.
