St Johns County Emergency Management spokesperson Kelly Wilson issued Historic City News the second Flash Announcement on Hurricane Florence as of 9:30 a.m. today.  The Emergency Operations Center is currently in Level 3 “monitoring” status.

The Saint Augustine Tea Party adjourned their Tuesday night meeting after an hour-long presentation by Mayor Nancy Shaver.  Almost immediately after her introduction by Chairman Lance Thate, Shaver could tell that there was no need to update the nearly two dozen members and guests in this group on basics like sea-level rise or transportation strategies.

King Street Entry Corridor Design Standards

On Thursday, September 13, 2018 Historic City News readers are invited to attend a joint meeting of the city’s Planning and Zoning Board and the Historic Architectural Review Board when they take up the review and update of the King Street entry corridor.

The meeting will start at 2:00 p.m. in the Alcazar Room, located off the courtyard at City Hall, 75 King Street.
