Planning for 2016-2017 City of St Augustine budget begins
On Monday, May 9, the City Commission adopted its strategic plan for 2017, the first step in developing and passing a budget for the next fiscal year. Historic City News readers will want to plan to participate at available public hearings.



Historic City News has learned that David Olson is now a two-time winner of the “Jean Wagner Troemel Best in Show” prize for his mixed media sculpture, “Spine”. Olson is a fine art teacher at St Augustine High School.
Historic City News readers with questions or comments concerning the development of a historic preservation master plan will have an opportunity next week to attend a public forum with the consultants hired by the City of St Augustine.
The St Johns County Parks and Recreation Department is in the process of updating its Master Plan to guide the future of parks, nature preserves, beach areas, athletic facilities, and recreation programs and services within the County.
With challengers for each of the three city commission seats up for election in St Augustine this year, Historic City News finds the discussion on issues most important to residents are growing louder.
