A male suspect is being sought in connection with a robbery and shooting at a SR 312 restaurant late Sunday night according to a media alert received by Historic City News this morning.

Deputies responded to a report of a shooting of the female manager of Applebees at 11:15 p.m. Sunday.

Since at least 1905, as best as can be determined, at least one St. Johns County constitutional officer has had opposition according to Vicky Oakes, Assistant Supervisor of Elections in a conversation with Historic City News this afternoon.

At the close of qualifying week for candidates seeking county office, which ended today at noon, every constitutional officer in St. Johns County is running for re-election without opposition.

A growing trend in recent years has been the use of bicycles by those who live close to downtown or carpooling with friends to minimize the number of cars in need of a place to park.

Arrest on police impersonation charges

Wednesday night, a 21-year old St. Johns County man was arrested on charges of impersonating a police officer, carrying a concealed firearm and use of a firearm while committing a felony according to records from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office that were supplied to Historic City News by Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw.
