City of St. Augustine Beach Comprehensive Planning and Zoning Board announced a workshop meeting for tomorrow night, Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. to be held at City Hall, 2200 State Road A1A South in St. Augustine Beach.

Thanks to some quick thinking on the part of Len Weeks, the cooperation of other Hypolita Street property owners and the support of the St. Augustine City Commission, one of the city’s four-block-long streets will be a little safer for pedestrians — tourists and residents alike.

In an announcement forwarded to Historic City News from Alison Johnson, Legislative Aide to District 20 Representative Bill Proctor, we were advised that State Representative Proctor will hold a town hall meeting, open to the public, on Wednesday, June 18th, 2008.
This will be an informative meeting designed to review the recent Legislative Session and budget.

The St. Johns County Engineering Division will host a public meeting at the Southeast Branch Library, located at 6670 US Highway 1 South in St. Augustine to discuss the upcoming Pines Drainage Improvement Project, according to a notice received by Historic City News this afternoon.

Presentations of Citizenship Awards to area high school students were made during the Monday, June 9th City Commission meeting according to a media release received by Historic City News this morning.
