Proctor meets with young Republicans
Historic City News received word from Dan Greene that tonight; District 20 State Representative Bill Proctor will join the St. Johns County Young Republicans to discuss how things wrapped-up in Tallahassee last week.


Steve Wright may not take on a bucking bronco, but Historic City News has learned that his over-fifteen years experience, seven of which have been earned at the City of St. Augustine, has placed him second, statewide, in a front end loader and overall in the recent competition of the Florida Sunshine Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America.
Dr. Richard Shortlidge announced to Historic City News that on Saturday, June 25, 2011, to honor the 271st anniversary of the Spanish victory at “Bloody Mose”, the Presidiales of St. Augustine will offer the second, annual commemoration of this conflict at Fort Mose Historic State Park.
Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department was called at about 1:00 a.m. yesterday morning to disperse a crowd that was growing at Denny’s located at 1300 Ponce de Leon Boulevard.
The monument that was built to commemorate the contribution of demonstrators and protesters, who were the “foot soldiers” during the civil rights movement in St. Augustine, looks as though it could have been perched in the Plaza for decades.
Historic City News has received word that, over the weekend, five teenage boys, between 15 and 17 years of age, were transported to Baptist South Hospital after exhibiting violent symptoms believed to have been caused from eating a substance ordered from the Republic of China.
Public Information Officer Mark Samson reported to Historic City News that the St. Augustine Police Department was called to the Scottish Inn on Anastasia Boulevard on Thursday, May 12th, to investigate a cell phone that was reported stolen.
One of St. Johns County greatest attributes behind Tourism is Agriculture.  And, Hastings as the Potato Capitol of Florida was the best place to host the traditional Hasting Potato Cabbage Festival.  From the attendance at the Festival it appears that many are getting back to the basics and their roots.
