Archeological remains discovered during the Rehabilitation Project of the Bridge of Lions, such as hand-blown glass bottles, pieces of refined earthenware, and tableware, including majolica pottery shards, are just a few of the objects Historic City News readers can inspect at the Southeast Branch Library located at 6670 US-1 South in St Augustine.

Starting the week of July 8, Historic City News readers can plan that between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., an inspection and cleaning of sewer lines in the vicinity of Treasury Street between Cordova Street and Charlotte Street will result in some street closures.

When Historic City News first reported that El Galeon had sailed into Matanzas Bay on May 21, the educational replica of a 16th century Spanish sailing vessel was scheduled for departure on June 3; but, due to the large volume of visitors, that stay was extended through June 23, and again until July 8th — that departure has been pushed back again, this time until Tuesday, July 23rd.

Historic City News has reported over the last several years that Dr. Kathleen Deagan, Distinguished Research Curator of Archaeology and Adjunct Professor of Anthropology at the Florida Museum of Natural History, has been conducting research at the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park in St Augustine.
