New World in the Eyes of Explorers Exhibit
This intriguing exhibit of images of the New World and its indigenous peoples and animals provide a fascinating look at the first encounter between the peoples of the Old World and the New World – an epic event that changed the world forever. During this morning’s meeting of the St Johns County commission, Historic City News learned that Dr. Predrag Bulic has accomplished a goal which he set out to achieve when he began employment as the District 23 Chief Medical Examiner; national accreditation for his office that investigates all violent, suspicious or unusual deaths.
Historic City News has learned that a Sanford, Florida hotel developer, Humphrey Realty Corp, will put the wheels in motion before the end of the month for their first hotel property in St Augustine; following their $2.3 million purchase of the San Marco Inn located at 116 San Marco Avenue.
Jon Burpee informed local Historic City News reporters that, on November 23th, the National Park Service will host an evening that will bring the historic timeline of the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument to life.
The North Pole Telephone Company reported to Historic City News in St Augustine that, in cooperation with the St Johns County Recreation and Parks Department, any local parents or guardians of children under the age of eight can sign up now to have Santa call their child at home this Christmas season.
