County agrees to sell St Augustine Lighthouse buildings

During this morning’s meeting of the St Johns County Commission, an agreement was reached on the sale of several acres of maritime hammock nature trails, the 1876 historic keepers’ house and two Victorian-era summer kitchens as well as a garage and U.S. Coast Guard barracks from the WWII period that surround the St Augustine Lighthouse.

Flagler College reported to Historic City News that St. Augustine Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program archaeologist Brendan Burke will speak on March 18th as part of the Historic St. Augustine Research Institute speaker series on the local campus.

Circuit Judge J. Michael Traynor imposed the life sentence on 43-year-old Christopher Linus Fries, for the September 10, 2011 murder of 29-year-old Paul Crookshank in the parking lot of the Gigglin’ Gator pub.
