Parks and recreation update for St Johns County residents
St. Johns County Parks and Recreation updated local Historic City News reporters about available programming for our readers; including beaches, outdoor activities, special events, and the St. Johns Golf Club. You are invited to enjoy all that your county has to offer in active and passive recreation.

Over the fifteen-years I and my family have published Historic City News, I’ve had several occasions to meet and talk with Civil Rights leader, Robert Hayling. It’s not every day you can speak with authentic figures in American history. I feel fortunate for those encounters and Dr. Hayling’s willingness to speak frankly with me about his experiences.
Just before midnight, in the wee hours of Thursday morning, Historic City News was informed of a fatal crash on CR-208, just east of Joe Ashton Road. St Johns County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the emergency 911 call, placed by the driver of the vehicle involved.

Historic City News was informed Wednesday that Dr. Robert B. Hayling, the dentist who led the civil rights movement in St. Augustine, Florida in the 1960s, passed away at his home in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, December 20, 2015, according to word received from his sister, Mrs. Yvonne Clarke of Sarasota.
