Joseph’s search for lodgings on the first Christmas Eve
For over 400 years, the colonial Hispanic Christmas tradition of Las Posadas has been celebrated by processions throughout the New World. The event is a re-enactment of Mary and Joseph’s search for lodgings in Bethlehem on the first Christmas Eve.



Historic City News was on hand last weekend, December 4th, as the annual Reindeer Run made its way through the downtown streets of St. Augustine. Over one hundred runners raced to the one-mile finish line amidst streets lined with holiday fan-fare and dotted with historic monuments.


Historic City News was informed that K&S Tree Service will be trimming trees within the right-of-way along streets located in the Old Town and Old City neighborhoods starting on Monday December 12th.


The Federal Emergency Management Agency and other organizations will participate in a town hall meeting on Wednesday, December 7th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Willie Galimore Center located at 399 Riberia Street, according to an announcement received by Historic City News today.
Historic City News reporters watched as vice-mayor Roxanne Horvath nominated Todd Neville to assume her position, as she stepped down from the appointment she has held for the first two years of Mayor Nancy Shaver’s administration.
