Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Debbie Delgado, that traffic will be impacted at the following St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.
Be alert to lane closures and temporary detours, as well as increased congestion in these areas. FDOT employees and contractors will be working on the roadways and need your full attention.
Executive Director Bryan L. Shorstein informed local Historic City News reporters that after previously being convicted at trial of the first-degree murder of Nicole Elise Bush with a firearm as well as armed assault during the burglary of the dwelling, and the prior death sentence recommendation of the jury, the Honorable Judge Howard M. Maltz sentenced Sean Alonzo Bush to death today in St. Augustine.

St. Johns County Christmas Holiday Office HoursAll departments of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, St. Johns County Administrative offices, and the Pet Center, have reported to Historic City News that they will be closed Monday, December 25 and Tuesday, December 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday.
The Historic City News crime desk received word that a Jacksonville man violated a protection order Sunday; he was arrested and taken to jail where he was held overnight until a bond hearing yesterday morning.

Volunteer Coordinator Shannon Rininger informed local Historic City News reporters that the 2017 Northrop Grumman “Excellence in Volunteerism” award program is making a $5,000 grant to the Friends of the Guana-Tolomato-Matanzas Research Reserve.
