Historic City News was notified by Florida Department of Transportation Public Information Officer, Debbie Delgado, that traffic will be impacted at the following
St Augustine and St Johns County locations where roadwork is being conducted.
Be alert to lane closures and temporary detours, as well as increased congestion in these areas. FDOT employees and contractors will be working on the roadways and need your full attention.

St. Johns County School District reported to Historic City News that today’s opening day attendance was 36,253, an increase of 1,347 students over last year.
About 5:20 p.m. yesterday evening, Historic City News local reporters learned that 67-year-old Tommy Dean Murphy had been arrested by St Augustine Police and was in custody, charged with sexual battery.
Starting Friday, August 11, Historic City News readers traveling southbound St Johns Parkway CR-2209 traffic, between Russell Sampson Road and North Arabella Way, will shift to the new northbound roadway on the east side of the road.

Two more historic markers are being added to the surge over the past decade to identify historic sites in our oldest city. Since the early 2000’s the city, St. Augustine Archaeology Association and 40th ACCORD have been installing markers.
