Finalists in the 2017 St Johns County hospitality and tourism industry “Employee of the Year” awards were reported to Historic City News this afternoon. Each winner was recognized at their place of business in a celebration with their co-workers.
While change has certainly become a part of our everyday lives, with it comes the disappearance of pieces of our past. The landscape has changed and the heritage of those who worked the land and who created our traditions is now only visible on our back roads.

The St. Augustine Art Association presented awards to ten artists featured in the “Not-So-Still Life” Exhibition, on display at 22 Marine Street through February 25th. St. Augustine artist Nancy Hamlin-Vogler won the Jean Wagner Troemel Best in Show Award for her mixed media work entitled, “Strange Bird Landing”.
