Castillo says goodbye to two managers
Lindsey Phillips, Administrative Officer of Castillo de San Marcos National Monument in St Augustine, announced that the National Park Service will be wishing “farewell” to two long-term managers tomorrow; Dan Matteson and Juhu Walker.

Outreach Coordinator Aubrey Mulligan announced to local Historic City News reporters that Keepers of the Coast are recruiting volunteers for the “Keeping it Barefoot Friendly” beach clean-up tomorrow, Friday, December 16th.
Media contact Danielle Fountain reported to Historic City News that “Occupy St Augustine” would meet in front of city hall on Saturday, December 17th, from Noon until 9:00 p.m.
Without a commitment from St Johns County that they will enforce hook-up to the proposed West Augustine sewer treatment expansion, if built, the St Augustine City Commission expressed reservations about moving forward.
When the St Augustine City Commission met in early session Monday afternoon, a suggestion was advanced that is reminiscent of a small recognition received from the Post Office Department during they city’s 400th anniversary in 1965.

Pete Weiland, president of firefighters Local 2282 IAFF, reported to Historic City News that this Sunday, December 18th from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., the first annual Winter Wonderland Firefighter Chili Cookoff will be held at the St Augustine Amphitheatre.
