State to assist privatized campgrounds
A state panel responsible for reviewing uses of state conservation lands voted Friday to expedite the planning process for creating campgrounds in 56 state parks, despite some questioning the transparency of the process.






United States Attorney Robert E. O’Neill announced to Historic City News this morning that a 48 year-old Acting Supervisor at the Jacksonville International Annex of the United States Postal Service pleaded guilty to mail theft.

Historic City News was on hand for a presentation from Mike Davis requesting funding for the “Home Again St. Johns” program at the May 24th joint meeting of the City of St. Augustine and St. Johns County boards of commissioners.




Item 6(B) 3 on the agenda for Monday night’s City Commission meeting is sure to raise a few eyebrows for some Historic City News readers when a presentation by Colin Bingham, who, with Donald Wallis, co-founded the ill-fated First America Foundation, Inc., pitches an initiative he says will improve unused properties in the city for the 450th commemoration.
