Flagler students place in SIFE exposition
The Flagler College Students in Free Enterprise team advanced to the final four and finished as second runner-up at the 2011 SIFE USA National Exposition on May 12th, in Minneapolis, according to a report received by Historic City News Friday.






When Historic City News editor Michael Gold arrived, just over an hour ahead of yesterday’s unveiling of a monument recognizing St. Augustine’s “foot soldiers”, heavy rain threatened to prevent the ceremonies from continuing — but, as if on cue, at 4:30 p.m., the rain broke.


St. Johns County Recreation and Parks Superintendent Betsy Clarkson reported to Historic City News that Danny Lippi will lead a nature hike at Vaill Point Park on Sunday, May 22nd at 9:00 a.m.
Crash investigator J.D. “Mac” McGinnis reported to Historic City News from the scene that, for the second time in one week, traffic unit members of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office have responded to an ATV crash on a public street.
Cathy DuPont notified Historic City News that representatives of the Department of Interior will conduct a meeting with city staff and others next week to discuss arrangements for the first meeting of the federal St. Augustine 450th Commemoration Commission.
The City of St. Augustine invited all Historic City News readers to join governmental entities across the nation in celebration of National Public Works Week, May 15th through 21st with an open house on Saturday, May 21st.
