Florida Heritage Book Festival poetry workshop
Chris Bodor, Owner of Poet Plant Press in St. Augustine, reported to local Historic City News that readers, writers, and illustrators enjoyed a full day of free events yesterday on the Campus of Flagler College as he participated in the Florida Heritage Book Festival.




Governor Charlie Crist has proclaimed October 3rd – 9th as Register Your Emergency Contact Information Week in the Sunshine State and St. Johns County Tax Collector Dennis W. Hollingsworth is helping Historic City News readers to participate.
The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners and the Council on Aging announced to Historic City News the grand opening ceremonies for the new St. Johns County Transit Center located at 2595 Old Moultrie Road.

A rally will be held to inform the City Commission of St. Augustine that the community is tired of their massive encroachments upon the rights of citizens in the past two years.
As you know, our City Commissioners have co-opted the Charleston Code that regulates the carriage businesses up there, and are determined, despite growing opposition, to force it on the carriage trade here.
City Manager John Regan will brief commissioners on an estimated $2 million initiative to expand the Visitor Information Center; by enclosing the rear porches and adding wings resulting in a 20,000 square foot, climate-controlled, secure venue.
