Historic City News observed that only City Commissioner Todd Neville had objection to a new ordinance that will require those who are awarded a demolition permit to wait for the 30-day appeal window to expire before actually performing the demolition. The vote creating the new requirement was approved Monday night in a 4-1 split vote.
William B Rosenstock who resides at 57 White Court in St Augustine Beach was arrested by officers with the St. Augustine Beach Police Department. He was taken to the St Johns County Jail and held in lieu of $500 bond, charged with misdemeanor stalking.
On the job since June 1, 2009, Darlene Galambos, currently the Recording Secretary for the City of St Augustine, will receive a promotion to fill the position of City Clerk; currently held by Alison Ratkovic.
Historic City News has learned that Skinner Bros Realty Co. will be building a 54,000-square-foot Publix in the Moultrie Square Shopping Center in St. Augustine as part of a “large-scale enhancement project” of the center.
St Johns County Commissioner Bill McClure informed local Historic City News reporters that he is headed to Tallahassee to address members of the House and Senate committee on congressional redistricting.
The St. Augustine-Palm Coast Navy League reported to Historic City News the appointment of Captain Jack Capra as the council’s new JAG Officer. Free speech can’t be sequestered Bill Rosenstock St Augustine Beach, FL Dear Editor: I applaud the county commission for its unanimous vote August 4th for the removal of the “free speech area” sign at Pier Park. Free speech is practiced by all American citizens every day without us ever thinking about it.
